Barcelona to offer £35m

Barcelona to offer £35m plus incentives for Cesc Fabregas to wrap up long-running saga

Fabregas, who is on holiday back in Spain, was attending one of his soccer camps just outside Barcelona and is widely expected not to return to Arsenal for pre-season training. The Gunners, who are reluctantly willing to sell at the right price, are interested in Bayer Leverkusen’s Arturo Vidal. Barcelona are willing to offer £35million plus incentives to Arsenal for Cesc Fabregas in an effort to have the deal concluded by a week on Friday.

Feeling blue Samir? No smiles from unhappy Nasri in new Arsenal away Blue

It's supposed to be a time of celebration for Arsenal as the club looks back on 125 years of history, but it seems Samir Nasri is in no mood to join in.At the launch of the Gunners' new away shirt for the 2011-12 season, the midfielder didn't look to pleased to be pulling on the blue and turquoise number, which - along with the new home strip - will feature a special crest to mark the 125th anniversary of the club.

It might not be just the new design the French star is nonplussed about. The 24-year-old is stalling on a new deal at the Emirates Stadium, with Manchester United hot on his tail ahead of his contract expiring next year. The shirt may look like a Monaco copy, but according to Arsenal the diagonal line represents the gnomon (the pointer) which casts the shadow on a sundial - to commemorate the original Dial Square sundial on the site of the Arsenal munitions factory in Woolwich, where the Club was founded in 1886.In addition the strip is made from recycled polyester, which this season for the first time includes both the shirt and shorts. Each complete kit is made up of up to 13 reclaimed plastic water bottles. The kit is available on pre-order from the club's website ahead of its release date on the 28 July.

McLeish has made it clear he will not deny Downing a move to Liverpool and is planning to use the proceeds of a sale to lure Charles N'Zogbia from Wigan.
